DO I NEED TO GET THREE ESTIMATES?
The only estimate that is required is the one performed by the insurance company adjuster. Typically, if your vehicle is drivable the insurance company will set up an appointment for and estimate at a body shop where they have and adjuster stationed. Some insurance companies will approve an estimate and photos written by our estimator and emailed to them from our repair shop. According to Ohio law; only one estimate is required to begin repairs. All professional bodyshops that work with insurance companies will begin repairs from the insurance company’s approved estimate.

WHAT IF THE ADJUSTER MISSED DAMAGE THAT WAS CAUSED BY THE ACCIDENT WHEN THEY WROTE THEIR ESTIMATE?
Your technician will search for additional damage that was caused by the collision. A supplemental estimate aka “the supplement” is an estimate written by our repair center when additional damages are found and is submitted directly to the insurance company, to be included in the repairs.

CAN I LEAVE MY CAR WITH YOU EVEN IF IT’S DRIVABLE? WILL THE INSURANCE COMPANY SEND THE ADJUSTER TO DO MY ESTIMATE WITH YOU?
Yes you can and yes they will. Your bodyshop is always the best place to get your estimate, whether it’s drivable or not. We strive to make it convenient for you with courtesy towing and if the insurance company hasn’t set up your rental, or if you don’t have rental coverage than we’ll give you one of the cars out of our fleet, at no charge to you! When we pick up your vehicle you may qualify for the fleet car to be delivered to you.

CAN YOU PAY THE CHARGES AND PICK UP MY CAR FROM THE IMPOUND LOT OR TOW YARD SO THAT I CAN HAVE MY ESTIMATE WRITTEN AT YOUR BODY SHOP? CAN YOU PICK UP MY VEHICLE IF THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED IT TO ONE OF THEIR REPAIR FACILITIES?
Yes and we pay the charges, if any. We’ll also inform the insurance company that you’ve selected our repair center and the insurance adjuster will write the estimate here.

AM I REQUIRED TO GO TO ONE OF THE BODY SHOPS ON THE INSURANCE COMPANY’S LIST? WILL I LOSE ANYTHING IF I DON’T GO TO ONE OF THE SHOPS ON THEIR LIST?
According to the Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI), “even if your claims adjuster recommends a specific body shop, you may choose to have your car repaired at the body shop of your choice”. Although we notify the insurance company of your bodyshop choice, they may call you to just to confirm.

WHY ARE SOME BODY SHOPS OR REPAIR FACILITIES ON SOME INSURANCE COMPANIES LIST AND OTHERS NOT ON A LIST, AT ALL? HOW DO THEY CHOOSE THE SHOPS ON THEIR LIST?
There are many strong opinions regarding this issue. Practically every insurance company has a list of body shops or repair facilities for you to choose from if you don’t yet have your own body shop. How do they choose the body shops on the list? You should DEFINITELY check out this link before you choose a body shop.

WHAT IF THE INSURANCE COMPANY DECLARES MY VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS WHILE IT’S AT YOUR BODY SHOP?
We’ll call you so that you can get anything that you need out of the vehicle and your license plates. You than let us know that it’s released and the insurance company will make arrangements to pick it up from us. You’ll owe nothing to us out of pocket and we can give you tips to help ensure that you’re getting a good replacement value for the vehicle.

WHAT IS DIMINISHED VALUE?
